Year 4 into Year 5: Summer School

EASTER MASTER CLASSES IN MATHS

Angela will be teaching small groups (max of 7) basic techniques, how to speed up and how to tackle 'wordy' questions. They'll also look at some of the more common 11+ topics that pupils find difficult. This will prepare pupils for the rest of the year 4 course so that they can access the maths with more confidence.

We teach this in Torquay Museum and West Exe School. Just choose the location that suits you.

This is an excellent opportunity to reverse the Summer Slump - the loss of academic skills and knowledge after the holidays. Your child will be ready and enthusiastc for the start of year 5, the following week. In 11+ terms, year 5 is by far the most important year.

There will be 2 classes each day focussing on the main English and maths skills needed for the 11+ and year 5.

English: different types of writing, how to approach different texts and comprehension techniques. Also, each day, will be grammar, spelling and punctuation skills to enhance writing.

Maths: moving to more effective and speedy basic techniques, interpreting wordy questions, common 11+ topics, and how to apply skills (perimeter, area etc)

We make this course effective but also FUN. At times there is use of a beachball with questions printed on it!

Holiday class over three mornings. Choose one option and then attend all 3 sessions.

Option 1: 26th - 28th August AM (9.15am-12pm)

Option 2: 26th - 28th August PM (12.45pm - 3.30pm)
